Waterbury DMV Hours

Requirements if you are 16 or 17:

  • Completed R-229 Form
  • CS-1 Certificate from certified Driving School
  • Two pieces of mail with testers name
  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate or US Passport
  • Test Fee
  • Learner’s Permit

Minors who have complete the FULL COURSE, or 30 hours of classroom along with 8 hours of driving completed with an instructor, may test after 120 days. If the full course is not completed, they are eligible to test after 180 days. 


Requirements if you are 18 or older:

  • Completed R-229 Form
  • CS-1 Certificate from certified Driving School
  • Two pieces of mail with testers name
  • Social Security Card
  • Birth Certificate or US Passport
  • Test Fee

No photo copies or laminations will be accepted at the DMV. 

Those 18 and older must have held permit for 3 months or more to be eligible to take the On-the-Road Skills Test.
